About

This is a blog specially created for students of English at IES Xoán Montes in Lugo (Galiza). Students are encouraged to participate both in the activities organized by their teacher or create personal posts. In this way they practise their writing and reading skills, while it is also used in class to point out grammar aspects.

Why Amairgin? Well, it is as good as any other name and it was not taken by another wordpress user. Isn’t that a good reason? Well, there are also some minor reasons. Legends are probably the oldest form of literature and Amairgin is part of legends that connect Galiza and one of the countries where English is spoken: Ireland. If Breogán’s descendants living in Ireland came to speak and write English in a beautiful way it must not be that difficult for Breogán’s descendants living in Lugo to do the same. Let’s try!
