Saint Seiya

Saint Seiya or Knights of the Zodiac, is a Japanese manga written and drawn by the mangaka Masami Kurumada. It was published from 1986 to 1990 in the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump by Shueisha. The story follows five warriors or Saints: Seiya, Shiryu, Hyoga, Shun and Ikki.

They, and the others Saints have got Cloths or armors to figth and these Cloths design their constellation. They use an energy called Cosmo. The mision of the Saints is saving the Earth and the reincarnation of Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom.

This manga has got an anime adaptation (computer animation) by Toi Animation from 1986 to 1989. Saint Seiya have got more spin-off series:

Next Dimension is drawn and written by Masaki Kurumada and is the official sequel of the original manga.

Episode.G takes place seven years before the original Saint Seiya manga and the main caracter is the Gold Saint, Leo Aioria. This new series is written and drawn by the mangaka Megumu Okada.

Another manga is The Lost Canvas and its author is Shiori Teshirogi. The Lost Canvas tells the story of Tenma, Alone and Sasha 250 years before of the original Saint Seiya.

Saint Seiya has got many projects like novels, movies and concerts. This series has got a long future.
