Dora the Explorer

It is an American animated TV series created by three people: Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh and Eric Weiner. The show is carried in Nickelodeon cable television network including the associated Nick Jr. It is one of the longest-running shows of Nick Jr. channel. Dora the explorer aired on CBS until September 2006. The show has a dubbed version in Spanish on NBC Universal up to September 2006. The series is coproduced by Nickelodeon productions and Nickelodeon Animated Studio.

In the sixth season, the show became the series with most episodes. It won a Peabody Award in 2003 ”for outstanding efforts in making learning a pleasurabe experiencie for pre-schoolers”. It has been produced in various other languages worldwide, for example: Arabic, Danish, Filipino, Korean, Russian, etc.

Main characters in the series:

Dora: she is a true heroine. She is a born explorer, always eager for the next adventure.

Boots: it is a furry monkey and Dora’s best friend.

Backpack: it is a friend who accompanies Dora on all her adventures. It can speak both Spanish and English

Swiper: it is a quick, sneaky fox who tries to swipe things that Dora needs to complete her quest.

Map: he speaks English and is an incredibly useful helper for our young explorers because he always knows where to go and how to get there.

Isa: She is ready to provide essential information that Dora and Boots need to complete their journey.

Tico: He can operate any vehicle. He is often found driving in his little yellow car or in his tree at the nutty forest.

Benny: it speaks English. It is also a bit accident-prone.

The fiesta trio: this festive musical combo, who pop up to play a celebratory riff every time Dora and Boots make it past an obstacle.
