Marilyn Monroe, born as Norma Jeane Mortenson on 1st June 1926 and deceased on 5th August 1962 (when she was only 36 years old) in Los Angeles, California was an American actress, model and singer, who became a major sex symbol, starring in many very famous films during the 50s and early 60s.
She had a difficult childhood, living in foster homes. Marilyn began her career as a model and she soon had his first film role in 1946 with Twentieth Century-Fox. Our opinion is that her best film is ”Bus Stop”.
In her final years, Monroe tried to fight against her illnes and her bad reputation. The circunstances of her death, from an overdose of barbiturates, has been the subject of conjecture. It was officially classified as a “probable suicide”, but the possibility of an accidental overdose, caused by an homicide, has not been ruled out. In 1999, Monroe was ranked as the sixth-greatest female star of all time by the American Film Institute. In the decades after her death, she has been cited as a pop and cultural icon and as the most succesful American sex symbol.
