The Pretty Reckless

I’ll write about The Pretty Reckless because I really love their music and their style. The Pretty Reckless are an American alternative rock or hard rock band. The band was created in New York. The  actual members are: Taylor Momsen (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Ben Phillips (lead guitar and baking vocals), Mark Damon (bass) and Jamie Perkins (drums). Taylor Momsem formed the band in 2008. At first the band was called Reckless, later changing the band’s name to The Pretty Reckless to avoid legal problems.

Taylor writes all the songs, and the song’s subjects are very different. Taylor always  says : “I’m not just writing something because I think people might like it. I hope they do, but I’m writing it because I have something to say. So many feelings go into the lyrics that it’s hard to explain what they’re about.”

They became famous with their album Light me Up in August 2010. It was said: “With Momsen’s inky vocals, pummeling riffs, and swaggering attitude, Light me up sounds a bit like what might have happened had Led Zeppelin been fronted by a chick”

Some of their CD´s or singles  are: The Pretty Reckless EP (6/22/10), Light me up (4/12/11),  Hit me like a man (3/6/12), and the new CD,  but I don’t even know the name.

I like Taylor’s voice because it is really beautiful and penetrating. She changes her pitch with amazing ease. This is one of my favourites songs by The Pretty Reckless:
